The Greenplay project has been presented at the workshop “International Workshop about Energy Consumer Behaviour, Consumption Practices and Rebound Effect” in Maribor (Slovenia) the 10th of April 2018 by our partner Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME). Organised by the Interreg project TOGETHER, the workshop aimed at encouraging Public Administrations to improve Energy Efficiency in their buildings by involving users in energy management. The international workshop brought together experts and ambassadors of good practices who presented methods and approaches for a positive change in consumer behaviour and understanding of their needs for efficient use of energy.
One of the main focus of the workshop has been on how to influence users’ behaviour by Demand Side Management (DSM) based on two pillars: behavioural and analytical DSM. Behavioural DSM uses communication tools, such as trainings, gamification tools, information materials whereas analytical DSM is based on the analysis of monitored energy consumption with the involvement of building users. Both strategies have been proven to be very effective with a saving potential in the range of 10-20%.
Greenplay combines both strategies by educating tenants with a gamified approach on efficient building usage while providing them with direct feedbacks on consumption trends through the eGreen platform.
